“Like a young Franz Beckenbauer in the making except Huddlestone has a better range of passing and more shooting ability than The Kaiser”. That’s DaveRoss‘ view on Tom Huddlestone who he tips to be a future England prospect for the next campaign.
It’s a view I agree with. Hudlestone doesn’t use his size to become a battering ram in midfield, he instead relies on his excellent range of passing which has seen him compared to Glenn Hoddle. Given Tottenham are often found seriously lacking in midfield, especially with Zokora at the African Cup of Nations, Huddlestone could well begin to cement his place in the Spurs side.
He showed his flexibility yesterday with an outstanding performance at centre-back against Manchester United. It is a position he played when at Derby but when asked to drop back to fill in for the rested Ledley King he performed admirably.
Will Capello give him the call for his squad for the Switzerland friendly? Who else do you think should get the call?
