“Full English Please” – Could your club field an All-England 11?

We all love seeing young English talent at our club, whether it’s an English signing from another club or emerging through the youth side, but could your club field a side with just Englishmen in it? As Alex at gameof2halves has calculated a few teams in the Premiership could not only field an all English side but do pretty well! I feel Manchester United, Aston Villa and Spurs (especially if they sign Woodgate or Hutton) would be pretty successful although they would lose their first choice attack.

For Arsenal fans I’m afraid the best chance you have of competing in this All-English league would be a merger with Reading. Almunia, Rosenior, Hoyte, Duberry, Shorey, Little, Harper, Randall, Walcott, Lita, Kitson would be a solid line up, although having Dubbery as your only recognized centre back wouldn’t breed confidence!
