‘Match Of The Century’? – PFA Centenary Match

As a celebration of the PFA’s Centenary the City of Manchester stadium will host a England Legends versus the Rest of the World XI on 2nd December which aims to raise £1m for charity.Alan Shearer will captain an England Legends side including Des Walker, Peter Beardsley, Steve McManaman and Paul Gasgoigne (full squads below) against a Rest of the World XI which includes Marcel Desailly, Jay Jay Okocha, Andrei Kanchelskis, Gianfranco Zola and Ruud Gullitt.

  1. A couple of notable ommissions from the squad, both former captains…

    Stuart Pearce, probably one of the most passionate England players of all time.

    And although he’s not high up on my list of favourite people, David Platt.
