Leed-ing the way

If Leeds United hadn’t been deducted 15 points at the start of the season they would be 11 points clear at the top of League One, an indication of just how well they have done this season. Unbeaten in the League and now in 6th position, they won 4-2 today against Millwall in front of an amazing 30,319 fans in Elland Road. That attendance is higher than any this season in League One, the Championship, and at seven Premiership clubs.
Strikers Tresor Kandol and Jermaine Beckford have 13 goals between them. Beckford is a product of Leeds’ youth system with only one league appearance before this season began and Kandol, a striker previously floating around the lower leagues at clubs including Darlington, Luton and Thurrock. The situation at Leeds gave the striking pair their chance and they’ve not looked back. The only negative at the moment for the club is the probable departure of assistant manager Gus Poyet to Spurs to assist Ramos. But if Leeds keep on this way it may be a case of seeing just how many points Leeds will win the league by!
